The Filipinos are a gift from God, a problem is at our doorsteps, we do not lack at all, but we want to work, and live happy and enjoy our right to freedom, education, and a decent life, because the sin we commit is not to remember God, not to teach his children the Ten Commandments, and the commandments of Jesus Christ.

The first contact of the Tagalogs with the Spanish were in 1350 and the Visayans in 1545. Both colonized in the Philipines Islands in the 1500. They were at the time part of the Magellan Expedition but only the Tagalogs were allowed to colonize, because they speak Tagalog and are more friendly with the other Filipinos.

The Filipino people in South Asia have proven that they are among the most resilient in the face of suffering. The vast majority has survived the ravages of natural disasters, forced starvation, and political repression. The Filipino people have a long history of believing in education and progressive values. Their many struggles and success stories have given them a deep appreciation of the value of education. They were also among the first to espouse equality, the rule of law, and social justice. In the history of Filipino development, people's participation and agency have always been of paramount importance. In addition to the many revolutionary or organic movements in the Philippines, this history has been marked by the great leaps in political, economic, and social reforms from the government led by the Arroyo administration. While the Arroyo administration largely failed to use good government and transparency in managing the economy and planning the country's development, the country's progressive accomplishments in social programs were unmistakable. The Arroyo administration's economic reforms included the introduction of the BIR to replace the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), the lowering of electricity rates, the increase of government spending, and numerous programs to fight poverty. They also included the comprehensive Social Security System, the Solid Waste Management Program, the Local Water Works Project, the National Transmission Corporation, the Renewable Energy Fund, the War on Drugs, and the Magna Carta of Land Tenure Rights. The administration's achievements in the social arena included the development of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the Philippine Sports Commission, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Social Protection and Rehabilitation, and the Department of Labor and Employment. Finally, the Arroyo administration marked the first time in Philippine history that a president was not only re-elected but also won a higher percentage of the votes. The achievement of this milestone cannot be measured in mere numbers. It marks the country's success in moving away from the tainted legacy of military rule....more
